Prescription only Medicine - Veterinarian, Pharmacist and suitably qualified person (POM-VPS)

Previously known as PML Products these can be supplied with a prescription written by a vet, a pharmacist or a “suitably qualified person” normally an agricultural merchant or trained saddler. These mainly comprise farm animal or equine wormers, local anaesthetics and electrolyte fluids. Products in this category are designed for food animals. Our veterinary team can authorize the supply of these, normally after asking a few questions about their planned use.

Non Food Animal Pharmacy Medicine - Veterinarian, Pharmacist and suitably qualified person (NFA-VPS)

These are medicines for non food animals – such as cats and dogs – where some input is required by a trained person usually a pharmacist or other trained salesperson to ensure the medicine is used correctly. Again our own veterinary team will be happy to prescribe such products if they are happy they are appropriate.

General Sales List (AVM-GSLs)

Previously known as GSL products, these are ‘over the counter’ items with no restrictions on their sales.
We can also supply such things as syringes, needles and plastic gloves for farmers and quite importantly many arthritis aids for dogs such as Cosequin and Synutrim.

To enquire about prices for the items you currently purchase, complete our online quotation request or fax a list of items to us on 01777 710541. We can always be contacted by phoning our order line on 0845 601 3358 or 01777 706664.

Our sales staff are not qualified to diagnose or prescribe treatments but will be happy to pass on your queries to our team of veterinary surgeons for professional advice.

Small Animal Owners

We can supply all UK authorised medicines and nutraceuticals and we will be happy to quote you for these – see our how to use the service page.
With the new Veterinary Medicine Regulations introduced in October 2005 it is now easier than ever for clients to obtain prescriptions from their vet and these are free until October 2008. Unfortunately these have to contain more detail than in the past before we can dispense so please check out the links below to check we have all the necessary information.
